Comment: Saw Northern Rokk at The Bridge Inn on Sunday & they played a fantastic set. The energy never let up & the playlist showed real mass appeal & imagination. Loads of 'big' crowdpleasers from the likes of U2, The Clash, AC/DC & Aerosmith; forays into slightly heavier times that induced plenty of appreciative head-nodding - including Black Sabbath, Gun's N Roses & an absolute essential from Metallica. But these were interspersed with Northern Rokk's own take on some less-than-expected numbers. & they all really worked! Imagine Chris Isaak, Johnny Cash &, most surprising of all, Nina Simone all given the Rokk treatment. In fact, don't imagine - go & see these guys! They rock. They Northern Rokk! |

Comment: A fantastic night was had by the gang and myself at The Pack Horse in Leeds (29/4/11). The guys from Northern Rokk were on fire playing what was a blistering set list of covers. They had the crowd singing and dancing all night, receiving constant applause. A big personal thanks to the guys for the Birthday mention and "Rio". Made my night. |
